Event Review: Women Who Wander

I’m sure it will come as no surprise to hear that I love attending events. As an event facilitator, I enjoy being able to be a participant, to see how other organizers set things up, and to have an opportunity to just attend. At the end of March, I was able to attend the first Women Who Wander Outdoor Retreat in Concan, Texas. It’s not typically the type of event that I would have a chance to attend and was thrilled when my Mom called and said she needed a road trip buddy. It was amazing. We talked two weeks…

Project Planning: Evaluation

In the world of substance abuse prevention, we use a tool called the Strategic Prevention Framework to establish and implement programs. It is a flow chart that walks you through the process using these steps: Assessment – what is the issue we most need to address? Capacity – do we have the ability and resources to address the issue? Planning – how are we going to get from where we are to where we need to be? Implementation – Put the plan in action. Evaluation – did our plan work? A focus on what needs to be changed or adjusted…

We LOVE February!

I love the holidays. I love the big family gatherings. I love friends getting together. I love hosting (I love hosting year-round, but the holidays make it a little…

This time of year is expensive. All of the extra travel, extra groceries, and extra activities naturally lead to needing extra in your budget. Unless you’ve been planning and saving for these activities already, where does the extra come from? Check around your neighborhood and see if anyone needs help winterizing their yard: raking leaves, wrapping…

Welcome to Planned With Purpose: The Blog

Welcome to the Planned With Purpose Blog where I hope to share some simple, but effective tools, tips and tricks to help organize your day, month, year, house, event, or whatever you have coming up next. I will be using a lot of real world examples - things I have already put into practice in my own life (and linking to the resources that inspired me to put some of these things in place) so it only makes sense to start by introducing myself, my family (who has to put up with my craziness), and share a few things about…
